Nasce una nuova rivista sul Sud-Est Europa
Starting in September 2026, a new biannual magazine comes to life: a permanent, participatory, and hybrid social inquiry dedicated to the perspectives and languages of Southeast Europe. An editorial project unfolding over eight issues, each focused on a major theme, with cross-cutting columns and narrative contributions, exploring the area across the Adriatic—from Slovenia to Turkey, via the former Yugoslavia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece.
At its core lies a simple and radical question: do the Balkans exist? And how do we tell their story—or how do they tell themselves? When does a geographical neighbor become a narrative elsewhere?
On January 15 at 6:30 p.m., at the Tina Modotti Cultural Association, Casa del Popolo (via Ponziana 14, Trieste), the editorial project R/EST presents The Protests in Belgrade and the Story of a Region Beyond Stereotypes. Speakers include Bojan Mitrovic, historian; Gianluca Paciucci, president of the Modotti Association; Christian Elia, journalist and writer and editor-in-chief of R/EST; and Fiorella Costantini, photographer and storyteller, photo editor of the magazine.
