TSFF IN TOUR 2026
TRIESTE FILM FESTIVAL IN TOUR is a non-commercial distribution activity, devised on Italian soil, as a part of the Trieste Film Festival programme.
Conceived in 2018 by Alpe Adria Cinema/ Trieste Film Festival and realised in collaboration with the promotion and distribution company Lo Scrittoio, it brings the best of the latest edition of the festival to cinemas in Italy.
The aim of the project is to introduce the general public to a selection of the best works presented during the TSFF, including fiction feature films and documentaries. For thirty-five years it has been Italy’s first and most important event with Central and Eastern European cinema, acting as a bridge between East and West and bringing together the different latitudes of European cinema.
It is a showcase of films and authors of great cinematic value that the public often does not have the chance to enjoy due to the lack of proper placement in the Italian market.
No one will hurt you (No one will hurt you), by Dino Hodić, a very personal and touching documentary presented at the last Sarajevo festival that once again makes us reflect on the horror of one of the darkest pages of the war in the former Yugoslavia as well as of any war in the present. Thirty years after the Srebrenica massacre, the director, who fled to Switzerland as a child, embarks on an intimate journey to the roots of his identity, telling the story of Hasan, one of the few survivors of that tragedy.
Renovation (Change/Renovacija), by Gabrielė Urbonaitė, premiered at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and then at the Sarajevo and Tallinn Festivals. Shot in 16 mm, it places at the center of the narrative the young couple formed by Ilona and Matthias as they move into a new apartment seemingly perfect for their needs. The renovation of the building, however, exposes not only the cracks in the building, but also those in their relationship.
Stealing Land/ Zemljo Krast, by Žiga Virc, a brilliant comedy starring four parents struggling not only for a better future for their children but also for their own egos. When a game in the schoolyard sparks a political debate in the kitchen, an evening of absurd conflicts, low blows and unexpected confrontations begins.
Wind talk to me/ Vetre, pričaj sa mnom, by Stefan Djordjević, which premiered in Rotterdam and won best film at the Sarajevo Film Festival; an intimate family tale by the director. Stefan returns home to celebrate his grandmother’s 80th birthday. His plans to make a film about his mother were abruptly interrupted by her death. Back in the country and surrounded by his family, Stefan finds quiet solace in the rhythms of home.
All films will be presented in the original language with Italian subtitles. The Tour will touch the main Italian cities and all cinemas that would like to join the initiative can apply to Lo Scrittoio, which will also coordinate the activity in terms of communication.
