Scheduled for Thursday, July 9 Emma’s Perspective (À bras-le-corps/Silent Rebellion), directed by Swiss filmmaker Marie-Elsa Sgualdo, distributed by Trent Film.

Set in a Swiss village during World War II, the film tells the story of Emma, a young woman whose life is governed by the community’s strict rules. When she becomes pregnant as a result of an act of violence, she is forced to question her own destiny and seek a path toward self-determination and emancipation.

Premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival in the Venice Spotlight section, the film tackles the theme of freedom of choice with sensitivity and power.

The film was part of a screening dedicated to schools during the Trieste Film Festival, as part of the educational program “Grammar of Gender: Critical Literacy Between Cinema and Reality”: This educational program, developed with schools in Trieste in collaboration with GOAP, the city’s anti-violence center, involved over 250 students from the Deledda/Fabiani, Galvani/Nautico, Sandrinelli/Carli, Carducci/Dante, and Ciofs high schools.

The screening will be in the original language with Italian subtitles and is part of the Cinema Revolution promotion (tickets are €3.50)
