The film portrays a generation of young Russians between 2018 and 2022. Alika, Alyona and Katya are rebels and anarchists, part of a global youth who dream of living a modern life in freedom. A sense of anxiety and restlessness about the future haunts their lives. After Russia’s invasion in Ukraine, they find themselves in a new reality that requires difficult choices. In their quest for love, friendship, and the dream of escaping Putin’s Russia, they live in uncertainty, where longing is replaced by difficult emotions and attempts to repress reality. The film premiered in competition at the latest CPH:DOX in Copenhagen.

“When I went to Vladikavkaz in 2018, met Alika, and started filming, I felt something had changed. Many of the young Russians I met dreamed of moving away. They lived in a state of insecurity and indifference to the future, and they distrusted the state. I want to show life as it is for young Russians and to tell a story that gives an insight into a youth life that is not normally described in the media in the narrative about Russia.” (S.
