While cleaning up old boxes of photographs and film reels, the landscape of memories of the cross-border area between Slovenia and Italy, divided in the last century by war and political violence, is gradually revealed. The film brings together the memories of the local population of different nationalities and builds the backdrop for a shared narrative of life during the Second World War, exactly 80 years after its end, when we are once again witnessing the call to rearmament.
The film premiered in Gorizia in 2025 as part of the project Memory Ambulance and Archive Brigades, included in the official program of GO!2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia European Capital of Culture.

Anja Medved
Anja Medved (born in 1969, in Nova Gorica, Slovenia), is a documentary filmmaker, artist, and producer. She studied theatre directing at the AGRFT University of Ljubljana. Together with her mother, Nadja Velušček, she has created a documentary opus that explores the stories of people living on the Slovene-Italian border. She is the co-founder and director of KINOkašča/CINEMattic, a film production and memory archive, and is also active as a mentor in various university programs. The Trieste FF presented her documentaries Moja meja in 2004, Mesto na travniku in 2005 and Trenutek reke in 2010.
