Anna, a beautiful and wild individual, runs a farm in an unspoilt corner of Sardinia. At night she lets go in sensual dances in the village bar and indulges in short-lived adventures. Until one day, the construction of a mega-resort on her land forces her to engage in the biggest battle of her life. One of the projects selected at This Is IT in 2023, Anna premiered at the latest Giornate degli Autori in Venice.

“Anna is inspired by a true story that took place in Sardinia a few years ago … The film tackles several issues: from the difficult balance between protecting the environment and the need to open up to tourism in order to revive the local economy, to the difficulties of a single woman conducting a wholly male activity in a society still tied to patriarchal values. A society that views the man-woman relationship as an unequal one in which the man is quite prepared to make use of violence, including domestic violence.” (M. Amenta)
