Anishoara is a 15-year-old girl from a small village in Moldova. In summer she makes a trip to the melon harvest, where she falls in love for the first time. In autumn a tourist comes to the village and interferes with her life for a brief moment. In winter she travels for the first time to the sea with Dragosh, the young man she fell in love with. In spring she is longing for Dragosh, but he returns with a surprise. It is the last year of her childhood, before she takes off into her adult life. A graduation film, for which Ana-Felicia Scutelnicu won the ‘When East Meets West Development Award 2013’ in Trieste. The film was then presented at the 28th edition of the festival in 2017.
“The process of making Anishoara was for me a provocation and an experiment: a little exterior drama but a huge interior charge of emotions, the confrontation with the world through the presence of a 15-years-old girl, the work with both professional and nonprofessional actors, and an open form of screenplay developed while shooting.” (A.-F. Ana-Felicia Scutelnicu
Film director and writer, Ana-Felicia Scutelnicu was born in 1978 in Chişinǎu, now Moldova. She then moved to Germany and studied film directing at the DFFB (German Film and Television Academy in Berlin). She is currently working on her new film Transit Times. Besides Anishoara, the Trieste FF presented her short Between Walls in 2007.
