In a spa hotel Romy Schneider – the biggest female star in Europe of her time, gives her last interview to two journalists. Three days, driven by romantic desire, professional ambition and the urge for living. The film premiered in competition at the Berlinale 2018.
“I decided to focus on the detail of just three days of her life, the last German interview that Romy Schneider ever gave and where she was photographed by Robert Lebeck. Into that compact period I could focus on one location with just four main characters, all with different motives and conflicts. In that last interview, Romy broke the conventions of media relations and opened up in a way that borders on psychotherapy. Romy was at a time of her life where she had hit rock bottom but at the end of the three days I think she manages to see a shimmer of hope and possibility.” (E. Atef)
