The podcast Il Cuore scoperto, produced by Associazione Vanvera and available on all major listening platforms, is the Italian version of Victoire Tuaillon’s international series Le Coeur sur la table, produced by Binge Audio in 2021, first presented in Italy at the International magazine festival in Ferrara in October 2024.
“How do cultural and social patterns influence our loving relationships? How do we invent new forms of affectivitỳ that do not reproduce oppressive patterns?”
Starting with these questions Il Cuore scoperto poses itself as a collective conversation on how to reinvent our affective bonds, but also as a journalistic investigation that links the intimate and political dimensions, interweaving personal testimonies, interviews with expert figures, theoretical references and original music. The series tells that caring, loving oneself, can also be learned and passed on. It is not a matter of inventing new norms, but of opening up new possibilities.
The podcast is produced by the Vanvera Association, a collective of women working in cultural, social and research fields who are interested in gender and transfeminist issues.
In presenting the project Il Cuore scoperto, through audio excerpts from the podcast and insights from some of the films in the Festival’s Visioni Queer selection, we want to create a dialogue with the audience, realities and collectives active in the field of transfeminist and LGBTQ+ claims about how love, affection and intimacy are also changing in cinematic narratives and different cultural productions.
