TSFF37 | Cinema without barriers with INCinema

People with hearing and visual impairments are welcome at the Trieste Film Festival, thanks to the collaboration with INCinema, the first festival in Italy accessible also to people with sensory disabilities.

On Tuesday, January 20, at Teatro Miela, an afternoon of accessible screenings is scheduled. At 2:30 PM, Corti senza confine will be presented, a selection of seven short films by European directors that explore the cross-border region. At 5:30 PM, Caravan by Zuzana Kirchnerová (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, 2025) will follow, a project started in Trieste as part of the work-in-progress section “This is IT” and presented at the latest Cannes Film Festival. The film is an intimate and poetic road movie that addresses the desire for freedom and the parenting of a child with a disability, told with sensitivity and away from stereotypes.

The screenings will be accessible thanks to high-visibility subtitles, designed to make reading easier, and an audio description service that allows people who are blind or visually impaired to follow the scenes and characters. The audio description can be accessed via the EARCATCH app, which can be downloaded along with the film file before entering the theater.

The Trieste Film Festival thus confirms its commitment to an inclusive cinematic experience, capable of welcoming all audiences. For more information, please visit www.incinema.org.
