The MIOB Journalism Lab arrives at the Crossing Europe Festival in Linz – The call is open!

Once again this year, the MIOB festival network — which includes Crossing Europe, Palic Film Festival, FilmFestival Cottbus, Scanorama Film Festival, Les Arcs Film Festival, and Trieste Film Festival — is launching the call for applications for the fifth edition of the Lab of Cultural, Creative and Festival Journalism!

For this edition as well, the collaboration with Cineuropa, one of the leading platforms dedicated to European cinema, continues. Participants will be paired with a Cineuropa journalist, gaining first-hand insight into the profession and international film journalism. Young journalists will be invited to write reviews, articles, and reports on the films in the program and their festival experience; the most outstanding contribution — selected by the committee — will be published on Cineuropa as a special recognition of the author’s talent and dedication.

The Lab is a unique opportunity to attend a festival with press accreditation, working closely alongside other young journalists! Participants will be able to cover festival activities, interview attending talents, and publish their articles on the MIOB and festival websites.

The project involves in-person participation at the Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz, Austria, for 6 days (5 nights), from April 28 to May 3, 2026.
