In its 37th edition as well, the festival hosted the Lab of Cultural, Creative and Festival Journalism, the cultural and film journalism workshop promoted by the MIOB – Moving Images Open Borders network.
Five aspiring journalists, selected and mentored by tutor Marta Bałaga (Variety, Cineuropa), took part in five days of intensive training focused on film writing in festival contexts. Reviews, interviews and essays produced by the participants are now available on our website.
The programme will continue: the next edition of the Lab will take place during the Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz. The new call will open in the coming weeks: https://miob.info/
Nearly 100 students from the TSFF Academy filled the screening rooms of the Trieste Film Festival. Now in its seventh edition, the Academy this year welcomed students from 24 universities in 14 European countries, who followed the festival programme and took part in dedicated masterclasses, including those with director Kirill Serebrennikov and Hungarian filmmaker Ildikó Enyedi. The students wrote more than 90 reviews of the films screened during the festival: https://triestefilmfestival.it/tsff-academy/
The TSFF Academy is made possible thanks to the support of the Pietro Pittini Foundation.
