A weekend in the city park is meant for recreational activities. During a twenty-minute period, several men seek out a way to pass their time at a cruising spot located in the heart of a small peninsular grove. Peninsula premiered at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival, in the “Pardi di domani” section.

A weekend in the city park is meant for recreational activities. “Peninsula is conceived as a fictional reconstruction, presented as an observation of events in one part of a city park informally designated for cruising, a practice better known within the queer community as the pursuit of public sex.” (D. Gašo)

David Gašo
David Gašo was born in Osijek, Croatia, in 2000. He has directed several award-winning short-films as a student at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. His short film Short Cut Grass (2023) premiered at the Oberhausen Short FF, and was later screened at over twenty festivals and allotted a series of awards. In addition to filmmaking, he directs ads, music videos and other commercial forms. He is currently working on his first feature film.
