profondità del suo personaggio.” (D. Tanović) When Maja arrives on an isolated Dalmatian island to settle a family inheritance issue, she doesn’t expect to stay longer than planned. The island’s residents live peculiar lives that they have grown accustomed to, particularly influenced by Ićo, the town mayor, and Nediljko, his business partner in cultivating eco-marijuana. Only after Maja grows closer to Saša do the dimensions of her unresolved family relationships become clear. Amid newly stirred emotions and through a series of unexpected events, Maja will finally confront questions from her past. The film premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2024.

“I know we must age, but do we have to grow up? Is it truly possible to understand something without personal experience? How can we visually merge two stories of different genres into an organically complete whole? These are just some of the questions that interest me and have made me eager to take on this seemingly simple yet very complex task. Equally important was to present Maja as a complex and dialectical person, without too much glorification or condescension. Her motives are hers alone, and her way of life must reflect an authentic individual existence of a modern and free woman who opposes the deeply patriarchal society of central Dalmatia. It was essential to show Maja comprehensively, to realize the depth of her, and that she emerges free from the clichés and stereotypes of a teenage rebel.” (D. Tanović)
