Moja is a 10-year-old girl who lives with her grieving Slovenian father and her pregnant sister Vesna (20) in an outer suburb of Melbourne. Unable to come to terms with the sudden loss of her mother, Moja focuses on the upcoming baby while Vesna is lost in problems of her own. Bright and resolute, Moja hopes that her big sister can fill the mother-shaped hole in her life. Moja Vesna premiered at Berlinale in 2022.
Sara Kern
Born in 1989 in Ljubljana, Sara Kern studied film directing and worked as a screenwriter for the Slovenian National Television’s Children and Youth Programme before moving to Melbourne, Australia. Her short film Good Luck Orlo!, which premiered in Venice in 2016, was then screened, among others, at the Toronto, Chicago and Trieste film festivals. She has been selected for the TIFF Talent Lab, the Torino Script Lab and the Cinéfondation Residence, where she developed her debut feature film, Moja Vesna.
