Elsa Mencagli’s exhibition (T)HERE seeks to be an invitation to pause at the margins of verbal language, in the spaces between sound, gesture and meaning. Situations in which people find themselves constantly living, but without the awareness of the strong communicative connection that these actions have in our daily lives.
(T)HERE is expressed through a mixed exhibition format that includes sculptural installations, video, audio, and, in particular, participatory actions. The ensemble aims to concretise and convey those dimensions of language that manifest themselves through rhythm, form, vibration and gesture. An interweaving of art with neurology, speech therapy, voice studies and lived experience.
(T)HERE opens up ways of listening and expression that slip between the various forms of language, be they verbal or non-verbal.
