The new calls for proposals for When East Meets West (WEMW) 2027 are now open, featuring five programs aimed at professionals and projects in the international film industry.
Among the opportunities are “Last Stop Trieste,” the “Works in Progress” section organized in partnership with the Trieste Film Festival and dedicated to documentaries in the final editing stage, and “This is IT,” dedicated to feature films and hybrid works produced or co-produced by Italian producers or from the regions featured in the upcoming “East & West Focus”: Poland and the Benelux countries.
Applications are also open for EAVE Slate, the Inspirational Labs —eight programs dedicated to developing new content and business models—and the second edition of the Films x Games Connection Hub, which brings together the film and video game industries.
The deadline for all calls is October 30, 2026. Applicants may apply to multiple categories at the same time, provided they meet the specified requirements.
