It all begins with a video call from a father, a Moldovan migrant in Italy, to his daughter Lina, an investigative journalist, asking her to help him report the abuse he suffers at work. However, before she can do so, Lina must confront the unresolved wounds within their family, which include years of domestic abuse and physical and psychological violence. <\/p>\n\n
This is the plot of \u201cTata\u201d, by Lina Vdov\u00eei and Radu Ciorniciuc [RO-DE-NL, 2024], the film that in 2025 won the Alpe Adria Cinema Award for Best Documentary in competition, as well as the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Trieste Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the documentary \u201cTata\u201d will be screened at the Ariston Cinema in Trieste on Tuesday, 25 November at 8:30 p.m., followed by a discussion with the film\u2019s director Lina Vdov\u00eei, the president of the anti-violence center G.O.A.P., Imma Tromba, the artistic director of the Trieste Film Festival, Nicoletta Romeo, and moderated by journalist Fabiana Martini.<\/p>\n\n
