Trauma, ruins, reconstruction <\/em><\/strong> curated by Francesco Pitassio.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A journey through the cinema of 1945, a crucial year that marked the end of World War II and the beginning of a new era for Europe and the entire world.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1945 was a year of profound change, hope and rebirth: the retrospective will feature a selection of works from the world&#8217;s archives that recount not only the devastation of the war, but also the challenges of reconstruction and the hopes of a continent that was slowly rising from the rubble. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trieste Film Festival celebrates Nova Gorica and Gorizia as European Capital of Culture through a retrospective divided into 5 programmes (<em>Ruins, Childhood, Homecoming, Camps and Borders<\/em>) that will be introduced by historians and film experts.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All films will be presented in their original language with Italian and English subtitles.
