THE LAST DAY OF WILD ROSES<\/strong>
AGNIESZKA HOLLAND\u2019S GREEN BORDER SPECIAL EVENT AT TEATRO ROSSETTI<\/strong><\/p>

On Tuesday, we get to the heart of the Trieste Film Festival. The Wild Roses retrospective, dedicated to the most interesting female views of contemporary Germany, ends at Teatro Miela with the screening, today at 2:00 p.m., of HERR BACHMANN UND SEINE KLASSE by Maria Speth (Mr Bachmann and His Class, D, 2021, col., 217′, German o.v.): an intimate documentary about the special bond between a school teacher and his students. The teacher\u2019s unconventional methods clash with the complex social and cultural realities of an industrial town in a German province. The film was in competition at the Berlinale in 2021, where it won the Grand Jury Prize.
The film will be followed at 6:00 p.m. by Nicolette Krebitz’s WILD (Wild, D, 2016, col., 97′, German o.v.). The film tells the story of Ania, its rebellious protagonist, who breaks her tacit contract with civilized society and fearlessly decides to live an anarchic life without a safety net and hypocrisies. Wild premiered in competition at Sundance and was then presented at many international festivals, including Rotterdam, Gothenburg, and BFI London.<\/p>

We also remind you that during the day, at 9:00 a.m. at the CEI Hall, the panel INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE. FILM FESTIVALS, TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES – by Gruppo di lavoro Consulta Universitaria del Cinema \u201cFestival ed eventi cinematografici\u201d in collaboration with Trieste Film Festival, AFIC – Associazione Festival Italiani di Cinema, Ca’ Foscari University of, University of Bari \u201cAldo Moro\u201d, Department of Humanisties \u2013 University of Trieste – will be held. The event will be free admission and will be in Italian.<\/p>

At 8:00 p.m., the Festival moves to Teatro Rossetti, where screenings will open with Agnieszka Holland\u2019s ZIELONA GRANICA (Green Border, PL – F – CZ – B, 2023, b-n, 152′, v.o. Polish – Arabic – English – French o.v.), the Special Jury Prize-winning film at the last Venice Film Festival. A Syrian refugee family, a lonely English teacher from Afghanistan, and a young border guard meet on the Polish-Belarusian border.
