A selection of fiction features chosen from works produced in the last two years compete for the Trieste Prize. All are Italian premieres.

A selection of the best short films from the geographical area investigated by the festival, with special attention to Film Schools, compete for the Best Short Film Award offered by the Osiride Brovedani Foundation.

A showcase dedicated to new perspectives and new cinematic forms, from works that are “freer” in their durations and narrative structures, to hybridizations of genres and languages: different and original points of view on cinema and the world.

The initiative aims to give an opportunity for exposure and promotion of independent Italian feature films, both fiction and documentaries, that have not yet been distributed in Italian theaters and seek Italian and/or international distribution. The best film in this section will be awarded the Corso Salani Prize.

Established in 2021, a showcase dedicated to female directors from Central and Eastern Europe, which selects a group of talented filmmakers from a different country each year. In 2024, the focus is on female directors from Serbia.

A true “festival within a festival” dedicated to families and children: screenings of art-house short and feature films and creative workshops.
