“Scream of My Blood is the story of the immigrant’s journey. Eugene Hütz, part Romani, part Ukrainian, came to the United States as a refugee in 1990. From there, he bootstrapped his way to forming Gogol Bordello; a musical melting pot comprised of fellow NYC immigrants hailing from Russia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Belarus and beyond. The band worked their way from busking in the streets to international rock ‘n’ roll fame, espousing an authentic antiauthoritarian energy born of post-Soviet trauma. Through interviews, live performances and closely observed verite, Scream of My Blood focuses on a multitude of immigration narratives to portray the struggle and triumph of the cultural outsider. No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, there is a seat for you at the table. And the more true you remain to your roots, the more you enrich the fabric of society.” (N. Pommer, E. Weinrib) After its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it won a Special Jury Mention, the film was screened at many international festivals including Karlovy Vary.

Director, editor and producer, Nate Pommer was born in 1977 in Michigan, USA. He has worked in a wide variety of genres for clients like Vice, HBO, Showtime, CNN Originals, and Paramount Plus. Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story is his first documentary feature.

Eric Weinrib, born in 1972 in Bay Shore New York is an Emmy-nominated, awardwinning documentary filmmaker whose work has appeared on HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and VICE News. He collaborated with Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore for over a decade.
